Silkies

Silkies are one of the most unique chicken breeds, easily recognizable by their soft, fluffy plumage that feels like silk. They have black skin, blue earlobes, and feathered feet. Silkies are known for their exceptionally friendly and affectionate nature, often behaving more like pets than traditional farm chickens. They are excellent brooders and mothers, frequently used to hatch and raise chicks of other breeds.
